Super Tuscan

Color: Red
Is Great With: hamburgers; lasagna; roast pork; pizza
Sweetness: Dry
Body: Full

“Super Tuscan” is not the name of a grape, but rather a blend of grapes from Italy. It is a variation of the classic Chianti blend, whose main star is the Sangiovese grape (originally from Italy); Super Tuscans also feature internationally famous grapes, like Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot (originally from France). Super Tuscans come from central Italy, in Tuscany, not far from Siena. Super Tuscan blends are super-rich: deeply colored ruby red, with a robust mouthfeel and ripe fruits, like cherry and blackcurrant. Like any big red wine with a lot of tannins, these wines are definitely age-worthy.
