Sangiovese is an Italian grape, grown all over the country. It is one of Italy’s most famous varieties, and is used in many wine blends and on its own. Sangiovese is naturally very tannic, making rich, robust wines that do well after years of age. Sangiovese produces wines with aromas of black cherry, plum and blackcurrant. Though originally from Italy, Sangiovese is now found across the New World, in places like Australia and the United States.
