Jolan Turkington Director of Communications Jolan joined the Vintners Circle Franchising team in February of 2010. She is responsible for communications, elaborating programs that effectively describe and promote Vintner’s Circle and its winemaking shops, as well as developing effective communication strategies. She also serves as Vintner’s Circle resident wine expert, writing about all things oenological. Jolan has more than a decade’s worth of experience in the food and wine industry, culminating in her role as the wine director for the Blue Duck Tavern, one of Washington, DC’s most highly rated restaurants. She received her certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers in 2008. Prior to joining VCF, Jolan helped launch Achieve Business Solutions in 2005, a company that provides solutions for small businesses, supplying marketing and communication services. She has worked for the World Bank, providing editorial and creative assistance to publishing economists. In 2003, she helped institute the Washington, DC office of United Leaders, a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to training new generations of political leaders, by developing communications and community relationships like those with local charities, non-profits, and the US government. She hopes to one day pick grapes in Alsace, France, scarring her hands and eating lots of choucroute. Her favorite wine is a good, dry Riesling. Jolan can be reached via email at |
