Color: Red Is Great With: barbequed meats; Southern fried chicken; cold lamb or beef Sweetness: Dry Body: Medium-Full Cabernet-Merlot is a blend of two grapes: Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Both are originally from France, and are two stars of the famous Bordeaux blend. The two grapes blend beautifully well with one another; Cabernet Sauvignon provides the strong tannins (which means structure and longevity) and Merlot provides a smoothness, and softness in the mouth, mellowing out some of Cabernet’s intensity. Cabernet-Merlot blends feature aromas like green pepper, blackcurrants, and roses. What we offer: Cabernet-Merlot Wine Making Session If you like the blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, you may also like another Bordeaux classic, a Cabernet-Merlot-Cabernet Franc. Big-bodied and fruit-forward red wine blends like Cabernet-Shiraz or Cabernet-Shiraz-Merlot are also recommended. |
