Barbaresco is the name of an Italian wine, made from the Nebbiolo grape. Barbaresco comes from the Piedmont region of Italy, which lies in the northwestern area of the country (not far from Milan), under the shadow of the Alpine Mountains. Barbaresco is a powerful wine, with intense aromas of cherry, violets, roses, and licorice. Though Barbaresco has strong tannins, it is an elegant wine, and pairs well with food. Barbaresco ages very well.
