Tips for wine making and wine enjoyment.

The goal of wine storage is to prevent wines from going bad while you wait to drink them. Here are a few tips that should be easy to follow.

  • Avoid high temperatures.  High temperatures will ruin your wine.  Try to keep your wine as close to 60 degrees as possible.
  • Keep wines out of the light.  Direct sunlight exposure is never good for stored wines.  Try to keep your wines in a cool, dry and dark place. Vintner's Circle provides cardboard wine cases for free to our customers to store their wine bottles. You can always stop at your local liquor store and pick up empty cardboard cases to store wine.
  • Don't shake your wines. Avoid storage places where there are vibrations or shaking.
  • Keep your Vintner's Circle wines top up.  We provide high-quality synthetic corks for our customers -- the same corks used by major wineries worldwide.  They won't dry out and leak as natural corks do and aren't susceptible to mold.  If you purchase other wines with bottles that have natural corks, keep the bottles resting on their side to prevent the cork from drying out and shrinking.
