steps to wine making on premise
We guide you through every step to make the perfect wine.
For each of your visits, our team will prepare and sanitize all the equipment before your sessions begin, so you can start making your wine right away. In addition, we will clean up after you leave so you don’t have to worry about any dirty equipment.
Typically, you will come into the shop for four visits over a span of 8 weeks. Each of these visits generally last about 30 – 45 minutes. We arrange these visits by appointment so our staff may devote their time and attention to you.
We start the wine making process on your first visit. During this stage, called the Primary Fermentation Stage you will add yeast to your pre-pressed juice to begin the fermentation.
One week later, as part of the Secondary Fermentation Stage, we transfer or “rack” the fermenting wine to help the yeast continue to ferment the wine. This is a great time to start looking at labeling and branding options for your wine.
Two weeks later, we guide you through stabilizing the wine. The Clearing and Stabilization Stage is done to ensure the wine is clear and will age well in your bottles.
Finally, in about 4 weeks you are ready to bottle your wine! We invite you to bring friends and family with you during the Bottling Stage so they can share this fun experience with you.
