Winners of Vintner’s Circle Winemaking Class seats auctioned at the recent WRNJ benefit will soon be enjoying the fruits of their generosity. The participants began their three-session Introduction to Winemaking Class on March 22nd and will bottle their handcrafted wine at the beginning of June. Vintner’s Circle was one of the many areas businesses that donated items to the WRNJ auction to benefit the Joan Knechell Cancer Center at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center. The winemaking shop raised $800 for the center.

“We are proud and happy to support the Joan Knechell Center, an excellent facility that offers comfort and hope to those members of our community whose lives have been affected by cancer,” says Jenn Alviani, Marketing Director for Vintners Circle Franchising. “We thought that our wine class would make a unique donation and something that people would enjoy bidding on.”

Over a period of six weeks, the Vintner’s Circle Winemaking class members will participate in the step by step process of making wine from initial fermentation to bottling, in addition to learning some fun winemaking facts and wine knowledge. The three wines that are being made each offer different characteristics, tastes, and food pairing opportunities. The red is a California Pinot Noir, the white is a French Viognier and the Tangerine Lemon Sauvignon Blanc is a refreshment wine. Every class participant will take home two bottles of each type of wine to enjoy.
