Vintner’s Circle Announces New Limited Edition Wines

It’s that time of the year again – the time when Vintner’s Circle releases its much sought-after Limited Edition wines! Our Limited Editions are great ways to try distinctive regional specialties (like this year’s Austrian Grüner Veltliner) and unique proprietary blends (like this year’s Pacifica White or the perennially popular Chocolate Raspberry Port). The wines are, as their name suggests, available for a short time only, and you must reserve your sessions or kits soon in order to start making the wines after the new year.

This season, we’re offering three Limited Edition red wines and two Limited Edition white wines. Red wines hail from Australia, Italy and Portugal, with a Shiraz/Viognier blend, Primitivo and Douro Tinto respectively. The whites are an Austrian Grüner Veltliner and a blend from the wide scope of the Pacific Rim (California, Canada and Australia). Australian Shiraz/Viognier: Astute wine drinkers may recognize Shiraz as a red wine grape and Viognier as a white wine grape. This red blend, however, is a classic: Shiraz provides the structure, color and tannins for a full-bodied dry wine; Viognier lends floral aromatic complexity. This wine is powerful yet elegant.

Italian Primitivo: Zinfandel lovers, rejoice! Primitivo and Zinfandel share the same ancestry, a grape that produces full-bodied wines with aromas of ripe, juicy berries. Our Italian Primitivo is sourced from Puglia in southern Italy, making for a concentrated red wine with hints of vanilla and tobacco.

Portuguese Douro Tinto: Portugal’s Douro Valley may be most famous for its stunning Ports, but the region also produces grapes spectacular for dry red wines. Our Douro Tinto is a blend of three grapes, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and Touriga Franca, making for a complex, concentrated red wine full of flavors like plums and raspberries.

Austrian Grüner Veltliner: Grüner Veltliner is one of Austria’s most popular wines, and for good reason: this intensely aromatic, brightly acidic wine pairs wonderfully with a wide variety of foods and has immense aging potential. Grüner Veltliner features aromas of white pepper, peach and grapefruit.

Pacifica White: For those wine lovers who appreciate truly worldly blends, this Limited Edition wine is for you! From the edges of the Pacific Ocean, this wine is a blend of grapes like Chardonnay from western Canada, Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier from California, and Semillon from Australia. The wine is full-bodied and headily aromatic, with scents of honey and stone fruits.
